While speaking to Entertainment Weekly about the creation of ‘Peaky Blinders’ and the beloved character of Tommy Shelby, Knight revealed that everything had been planned for the character.He said, “I thought to end this, he’s going to have to leave.” Knight also clarified that he always wanted to create a character who was not afraid of dying or thought about death in any sense; However, Shelby’s time was scheduled to be limited. “From the beginning of creating this character, I wanted someone who didn’t care if he lived or died. That’s his superpower,” quoted the creator of the hit series and movie.

About ‘Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man’

The film begins some time after the end of ‘Peaky Blinders’ season 6, with Shelby going into hiding herself and staying away from a life of crime. In a quiet space in the countryside, he seems happy with his life; tormented by the fact that he had to kill his own brother. However, the past always comes to haunt him. This time, Kaulo knocks on his door, insisting that he needs to return to Birmingham because his son is leading the Peaky Blinders down the wrong path.
