JAMMU, January 24: Under the theme MY Bharat, MY Vote, Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports will organize a series of programs as part of National Voters Day Padyatra / Sundays on Cycle – 2026 on January 25, 2026.
This was reported by Nisar Ahmed Butt, State Director, MY Bharat J&K and Ladakh here today.
Addressing a press conference, Bhat said, “The program is a nationwide youth mobilization initiative aimed at promoting informed, ethical and participatory electoral engagement, with special focus on first-time voters. The initiative seeks to transform National Voters Day into a vibrant youth-led mass movement.”
He appealed to all young citizens to actively participate in the National Voters Day 2026 Padayatras being organized in different districts of J&K and Ladakh and contribute significantly towards strengthening the democratic fabric of India.
Adding more details, Khushal Gupta, deputy director of MY Bharat, Udhampur, said that the program will witness active participation of MY Bharat volunteers and first-time voters.
“The activities include padayatras or cycling events, congratulations to first-time voters, voter awareness interactions, pledge-taking ceremonies and public outreach. Youth participation in such democratic exercises is a crucial component of nation-building,” he said.
National Voter Padyatra at UT level in Ladakh will be organized on 25/1/2026 in Leh and in J&K on 28/01/2026 in Jammu.
In Jammu, the Padyatra will begin at Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar at 09:00 am and more than 1,500 participants from universities, higher education sector, NGOs, youth clubs and Mahila Mandals will participate.
In other districts, MY Bharat Srinagar, Doda, Udhampur and Kargil will organize padayatras on 25/01/2026.
The rest of the districts will organize the program between January 26 and 30, 2026.
