The Department of Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) on Friday announced the launch of two postgraduate programmes: M.Tech in AI/ML in Chemical Engineering and M.Tech in Computational Chemical Engineering.

While the AI/ML course will train students to apply advanced algorithms and analysis to problems such as process optimization, materials discovery, and others, the Computational Chemical Engineering course focuses on multiscale modeling and simulation of complex chemical processes. The curriculum combines chemical engineering with mathematics and computer science. Both programs emphasize research, hands-on computer training and interaction with industry, the institute said.

“Today, engineering innovation is increasingly driven by data, computing and intelligent systems. The future of engineering lies at the intersection of domain expertise and digital intelligence. These new courses represent IITH’s vision of training engineers who can harness technologies for a sustainable industry and society,” said director BS Murty.
