Hibs are the outside bet after a poor start as they attempt to defend their first title in 16 years and fourth overall.
However, rather than crumbling after Celtic poached head coach Grant Scott in December, they have flourished under former Scotland midfielder Joelle Murray and, after a seven-match unbeaten run, are now just eight points off the pace in fifth place.
Eilidh Adams scored Wednesday’s stunning winning goal against City and highlighted her team’s never-say-die attitude.
“A difficult game,” the 21-year-old Scottish forward Alba told the BBC. “You could see at the end that we were defending our lives, but that’s what it’s all about in terms of never giving up.
“For me personally, I never score goals like that, so I’m happy with that and, being the winner, it’s even better.
“I’ve been trying to work on that and add it to my game. I’ve probably improved in the box, but in terms of longer range shots, I’m not used to it, so I thought I’d hit it and see what happened and it went in.
“They are also three important points for the team, that’s the main thing.
“There are still quite a few games to play, but for us we are going to take it game by game.”
Hibs are expected to maintain their momentum at home against sixth-placed Partick Thistle on Sunday.
