Wimbledon day 5 schedule: complete order of play with Novak Djokovic, Jannik Sinner and Naomi Osaka

 & more related news here

Third round action takes center stage at Wimbledon on Friday, July 3, with 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic, former World No. 1 Naomi Osaka and defending men’s champion Jannik Sinner among the biggest names in action at the All England Club.

For Indian viewers, play on the outer courts begins at 3:30 pm IST, while the action on the center court begins at 7:00 pm IST. The matches on court number 1 are scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm IST.

The headline act on Center Court is Djokovic, who opens the day’s play against Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech as the seven-time Wimbledon champion continues his quest for a record 25 Grand Slam singles titles. World No. 1 Sabalenka continues against Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko before Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime takes on American Michael Zheng.

However, one of the biggest talking points heading into Day 5 is Sinner’s absence from center court.

The defending champion, who traditionally opened the championship on Center Court on Monday, was moved to Court No. 1 for his third-round clash against American Jenson Brooksby. Sinner also played his second round match on center court, defeat the Portuguese Nuno Borges in straight sets after surviving a five-set scare against Miomir Kecmanovic in the first round.

The decision to schedule the world No. 1 off Wimbledon’s main court has raised eyebrows, especially given his status as defending champion. Instead, Court No. 1 will begin with a high-profile women’s singles clash between Osaka and Australia’s Daria Kasatkina before Sinner takes the court.

The Italian comes into the match in formidable form, with a record of 40-3 in 2026 as he continues his bid for a fifth Grand Slam title.

In the final singles match on Court No. 1, American stars Coco Gauff and Claire Liu will battle it out for a spot in the fourth round.

Court number 2 also has a solid lineup. Brazilian teenager Joo Fonseca opens against Roman Safiullin before Jessica Pegula takes on Spain’s Jessica Bouzas Maneiro. The day’s play concludes with an all-seeded clash between Hubert Hurkacz and Tommy Paul.

On court number 3, Belinda Bencic takes on Anna Kalinskaya before Daniil Medvedev takes on Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff in a match scheduled no earlier than 5:00 pm IST. Karolina Muchova then completes singles action against Thailand’s Mananchaya Sawangkaew.

Outside of the main show courts, several notable singles matches are also on the schedule. Ekaterina Alexandrova will face American teenager Iva Jovic on Court 12, while Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina will face Hungarian Mrton Fucsovics later in the day.

On court 18, the current Wimbledon champion, Barbora Krejcikova, faces her compatriot Nikola Bartunkova, while the young Spaniard Rafael Jodar faces the Japanese Shintaro Mochizuki.

Doubles competitions also continue on the outdoor courts with several top favorites in action. Former world No. 1 Venus Williams returns to the mixed doubles draw alongside Germany’s Kevin Krawietz, while her older sister Serena Williams was left out of Friday’s playing schedule as she continues to deal with a knee injury.
