Former Pakistan players, who often appear on national television to express their views on cricket, often lose track of the conversation to talk about something completely off-topic. There have also been multiple cases during the ongoing PSL, where former cricketers went overboard with their opinions to create headlines. One such incident occurred recently, when Basit Ali, a former Pakistani cricketer, crossed the line of decency by delivering a low blow to his Australian teammates – Adam Zampa and Marcus Stoinis.
What exactly happened?
Cricketers Basit Ali and Kamran Akmal were speaking on a Pakistan-based television show while discussing the possibility of Australian player Adam Zampa appearing in Test Cricket. To which Basit Ali hinted that Zampa’s teammate Marcus Stoinis must have asked him not to play Tests.
This is how the conversation went:
Akmal: “I’m surprised Adam Zampa has never played Tests for Australia.”
Basit Ali: “Marcus Stoinis asked him not to play.”
Anchor: “That’s your personal business.”

When the clip surfaced on social media, it went viral with fans criticizing Basit for his comments about the Australian cricketer. See the reactions here:
When a society is foolish enough to distinguish drama from truth, it breeds people who survive on foolishness. Watch the so-called experts on Pakistani television and you will see them cringe at every turn. You want to thank Jinnah for cleaning India from this filth.

Adam Zampa on PSL vs IPL
Although Zampa is not participating in the IPL, the Australian player is currently competing in the 2026 Pakistan Super League, playing for Karachi Kings under the captaincy of David Warner. In the PSL auction, Karachi Kings signed him for PKR 4.5 crore, which roughly translates to Rs 1.51 crore.
“I retired from the IPL this year. To be brutally honest, for someone with my skills, I just don’t get the money that there is for other skills. And for the amount of time the IPL has been going on, it just didn’t seem like a reasonable option for me to continue playing,” Zampa said on the ARY Podcast.
“I was going to take a break, but PSL was on the radar about a month ago. It all happened pretty quickly, but I’m enjoying it,” Zampa added.
