Three big points for Martin O’Neill’s team, who overtake Rangers and occupy second place, five points behind leaders Hearts.
And now Bukayo Saka, the winner of the match. “We know we’re in a race and it’s a close one; it’s been that way for the last few years. It feels like a huge result, we’re going to enjoy it. Sometimes it’s just about getting results, and we’ve shown we can do that.”

It’s a good night to be an Arsenal fan. They are seven points clear at the top… and Spurs are one point off the bottom three.
Some thoughts from Gabriel after the game: “This is a very difficult place, the most important thing was to compete, get a clean sheet and three points. We need to rest now!”
Luton go to Wembley! They have fought back to beat Northampton 2-1 in the EFL Trophy semi-finals and have booked a Hatters v Hatters clash with Stockport at Wembley.

Full time: Aston Villa 1-4 Chelsea
Villa took an early lead, but Chelsea turned it around in spectacular fashion: Joao Pedro scored a hat-trick to boost their Champions League hopes.
Some thoughts from Elliot Anderson after the game: “I can’t fault the boys’ effort, the spirit has been excellent but we just haven’t got the results. [For his goal] I thought I’d let it go, I’ve been trying to shoot more often. We have a few days off and we will go back to work, trying to score more points.”
Celtic regain the lead at Pittodrie! It is Benjamin Nygren who scores the goal; The visitors lead Aberdeen 2-1.
Villa and Chelsea are still playing, in a game that had the most exciting first half, but which I haven’t watched for a good 15 minutes. it’s still there Aston Villa-Chelsea 1-4.
Full time: Man City 2-2 Nottingham Forest
City have one last burst of scoring, and in a mad final fight, Murillo clears Savinho’s shot off the line! But that’s all. A great result for Forest… and for Arsenal.

Arsenal get the job done after a brutal fight, and Bukayo Saka’s early deflected goal proved to be enough. Towards the Etihad…
Full time: Fulham 0-1 West Ham
Huge three points for the Hammers, sealed by Crysencio Summerville’s second half winner. They are still in the bottom three, but only on goal difference.
Eek! Semenyo’s free kick deflects and falls, but flies just over the crossbar. It appeared that Sels received a touch, but the referees failed and awarded a goal kick.
Trossard misses his shot, but the key detail for Arsenal is that the ball is on the far right of the field.
Yates pushes Rodri and City have a decent chance with a free kick, 25 yards out.
Back at the Amex, Kadioglu sends in a spinning cross that Raya punches clear, before Havertz drops to relieve the pressure.
City corner and goalmouth fight that ends with Rodri shooting wide and then falling. Anderson made contact, but it looked like a clash of boots.
Phew! Forest have a corner and Ryan Yates receives it at the near post… but his header goes wide!
Martínez saves Garnacho after Chelsea broke through Villa’s defense again. There are seven added minutes left at the Etihad, and the Amex…
Kai Havertz tries from a tight angle, but Verbruggen deflects his shot. At the Etihad, Haaland narrowly misses after failing to catch Rodri’s missed shot.
West Ham held out against Fulham, but Mads Hermansen saved Timothy Castagne’s volley.
An hour has passed in Pittodrie and there is still Aberdeen 1-1 Celtic.
Minute by minute, Arsenal is doing the job at the Amex, where there are already five minutes left to play.
At Villa Park, the home fans head for the exit while Ollie Watkins looks contrite on the bench. He has been replaced by Tammy Abraham after a difficult night in front of goal.
Big target for Luton, who lead Northampton 2-1 at Kenilworth Road, and look set for a Wembley showdown with Stockport.
Forest pounce on another loose City pass and as the moment passes, the visitors look more likely to score at that moment. At the other end, substitute Jeremy Doku sends a shot high and wide.
“The constant booing Trossard receives from Brighton fans baffles me. Yes, he quarreled with De Zerbi before he left, but quarreling is what people do with De Zerbi,” writes Kari Tulinius. “From the booing, you’d think he’d burned everyone in Brightonia’s childhood teddy bear.”

Casemiro quickly equalized against 10-man Newcastle, and now the half-time whistle blows.
GOAL! Man City 2-2 Nottm Forest (Anderson 77′)
The forest just doesn’t lie down and level again! This time it’s Elliot Anderson, sweeping the ball into the far corner from the edge of the area. Finish!
Late drama at the end of the first half at St James’ Park, with Jacob Ramsey shown a second yellow card for diving, and moments later Newcastle were awarded a penalty. Anthony Gordon converts and Newcastle wins 1-0!
GOAL! Aston Villa 1-4 Chelsea (Pedro 65′)
Villa’s high line is broken once again, with Garnacho sliding the ball in for Pedro to complete his hat-trick. A big win for Chelsea and Villa’s Champions League bid is in danger of falling apart.
Cherki’s through ball finds Haaland, who is able to take a touch and round Sels, before falling after contact. It looks like a penalty, but the referee indicates that the game should continue and there is no VAR intervention.
Baleba’s shot is saved as Brighton continue to look for an equaliser. It’s time for former gunner Danny Welbeck to join the fray.
It remains incredibly end-to-end at Aston Villa, with Watkins failing to capitalize on an opportunity, allowing Chelsea to break down. James has Garnacho in the middle, but his cross shot passes very close to Martínez.
GOAL! Fulham 0-1 West Ham (Summerville 65′)
And an important goal at Craven Cottage, where Jarrod Bowen gives the ball to Crysencio Summerville to open the scoring! West Ham are outside the bottom three as things stand.
