The Hyperboost Edge’s upper has an unconventional look that may even remind some of you of the iconic T-Mac basketball shoes released over 20 years ago, in part due to the lack of visible ventilation holes on most of the Primeweave mesh. This is not a well-ventilated shoe except for the tongue, so it is more suitable for cold or temperate climates.
On very hot days, the choice of socks becomes crucial and even then, overheating can occur. We rate it a 2/5 on our five-point scale, which is unusual for a road running shoe.
After reviewing the upper under our digital microscope, the dense mesh looked closer to a Gore-Tex style construction than a highly ventilated performance sneaker.

In our opinion, this is possibly the most controversial design decision in footwear.

The material quality is undeniably superior and the heel cushioning feels incredible, but improved airflow would have significantly improved the overall package.
