NEW DELHI: The IPL 2026 points table is starting to take shape, with early momentum already separating the favorites from the struggling teams. The Punjab Kings have made a strong statement at the top, winning both their matches and looking like a well-balanced unit.

Their consecutive wins have given them four points and a good net return rating, giving them a firm grip early in the tournament.

Just behind them, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians started positively with a win each.

Rajasthan, in particular, stands out with a huge increase in net return rate after a dominant performance, while the others will look to develop consistency as the season progresses.

Sunrisers Hyderabad sit mid-table with one win and one loss, showing flashes of promise but still looking for stability. Their net run rate keeps them competitive for now, but they will soon need more wins to stay in the race.

In the bottom half, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants lost their first games and are yet to put any points on the board. However, with only one match played each, there is still plenty of time to turn things around.

Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings are under pressure from the start as they lost both matches.

CSK, in particular, have struggled with form and balance, which is reflected in their poor net run rate, while KKR will need quick solutions to avoid falling further behind.

With the tournament still in its early stages, the table is expected to change quickly as teams find their rhythm.
