Liverpool are unlikely to re-sign Jarell Quansah this summer, talkSPORT understands.
However, the Bayer Leverkusen defender continues to think about the long term.

Quansah completed his move to the Bundesliga side in July after 17 years on Liverpool’s books.
The academy graduate is understood to have a release clause worth around £52million in his Leverkusen contract.
It follows his £35million exit from Anfield last summer, which saw Quansah sign a five-year deal in Germany.
Liverpool’s defensive options
Liverpool are already preparing to welcome Jeremy Jacquet to the Club in the summer.
The Frenchman completed his transfer from Rennes in February before joining the Reds ahead of next season.
Jacquet is hoping to get off to a good start after undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery at his current club.
Meanwhile, Giovanni Leoni is also aiming to return to action next season.
The summer signing has been sidelined since September with a torn ACL.
Quansah progressed through Liverpool’s academy after joining the club in 2008.
He would then make his Premier League debut at the age of 20 in August 2023 under Jurgen Klopp.

By the time he was sold to Leverkusen, the 23-year-old had made 58 first-team appearances.
In those outings, Quansah scored three goals for the club as a centre-back.
He was also part of the team that won the Premier League last season, as well as two previous Carabao Cup triumphs.
Since joining Leverkusen, Quansah has appeared 32 times in all competitions and scored four goals.
The England international also made his senior debut in November.
Thomas Tuchel gave Quansah his first appearance for the Three Lions in their World Cup qualifier against Albania.

It came 17 months after his first call-up under Gareth Southgate in June 2024 ahead of that summer’s Euros.
Quansah also won the European Championship at both the Under-19 and Under-21 levels during his career.
talkSPORT verdict
Andy Brassell discussed the possibility of Quansah returning to Anfield last month.
Speaking exclusively to talkSPORT, the European football journalist explained: “I wonder if at some point Jarell Quansah will come back. I think that has to be a question too.”
“We have seen this before with players going to the Bundesliga.
“Or you even think about going back, seeing Dani Carvajal spending his year at Leverkusen before returning to Real Madrid and becoming a Real Madrid legend. I think that’s always a possibility.”
