A Delhi court on Thursday (May 14, 2026) sent five people arrested in a case related to the NEET-UG exam leak to seven days of CBI custody.
Special CBI Judge Ajay Gupta was hearing a CBI plea to interrogate the five accused for seven more days in the case to unearth the entire conspiracy.
The agency arrested the five for their alleged involvement in the leak of the exam conducted on May 3 by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The accused have been identified as Shubham Khairnar from Nashik in Maharashtra, Mangilal Biwal, Vikas Biwal and Dinesh Biwal from Jaipur in Rajasthan, and Yash Yadav from Gurugram, Haryana.
Mr. Khairnar (30) was brought to Delhi by the CBI after the agency received his two-day transit remand from Mumbai. Mr. Khairnar, a resident of Nandgaon in Nashik district of Maharashtra, was allegedly involved in the leak of the medical entrance exam.
Detention in transit
The CBI had earlier secured his transit remand after informing the court that involvement of persons from several States was suspected and custodial interrogation was required for investigation.
