KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The Kansas City Royals will begin their homestand 30 minutes earlier than initially planned.

The Kansas City area is likely to experience severe weather Monday night, and in an effort to get as much of the game in as possible, the Royals announced their first pitch will now be at 6:10 p.m.

The Royals return to Kauffman Stadium for a nine-game stretch with series against the Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees. Kansas City went 1-5 on its most recent road trip, the only victory coming Sunday in a 2-0 shutout of the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Royals announced Monday afternoon that All-Star starter Kris Bubic has been placed on the 15-day injured list with left elbow soreness.

Bubic has battled injuries during his short Royals career. In April 2023 he underwent Tommy John surgery and did not return until July 2024, when he worked out of the bullpen.

Bubic put together an impressive first half of 2025, earning him an American League All-Star Team selection. But in July of last season, the Royals suspended him for the entire season after he suffered a rotator cuff strain.

The Royals have recalled reliever Eli Morgan from Triple-A Omaha.
