New Delhi: The government on Saturday cut special additional excise duty (SAED) on exports of diesel, petrol and aviation turbine fuel (ATF), effective from June 1.SAE on petrol export has been reduced from Rs 3 to Rs 1.5 per liter, on diesel from Rs 16.5 to Rs 13.5 per liter and on ATF from Rs 16 to Rs 9.5 per liter. The government said there will be no change in the existing excise duty rates on petrol and diesel for domestic consumption.The last such amendment took place on March 16.Export duty on petrol, diesel and ATF exports was imposed on March 27 to ensure domestic availability of petroleum products by discouraging exports amid the ongoing crisis in West Asia. The rates are revised on a fortnightly basis and are determined based on the average international prices of crude oil, petrol, diesel and ATF prevailing since the last review.
