HYDERABAD: The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) successfully conducted the intermediate level practical exams, which concluded on Wednesday. The tests were conducted under CCTV surveillance and more than four lakh students, both general and vocational, appeared.
The exams, held from February 2 to 11, were monitored in real time through the Command Control Center (CCR) at the headquarters of the board, created in 2025.
A team of 35 librarians and 35 technicians supervised the process daily from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. In total, 3,11,011 general students participated in 34,400 sessions and 90,254 vocational students participated in 16,000 sessions, the board said.
The surveillance included 5,500 cameras in government schools, 1,300 in sectoral schools and 7,500 in private schools, all integrated with the CCR. A total of 1,440 centers were created for general courses and 484 for professional courses.
According to the board, CCTV monitoring allowed irregularities to be immediately reported, and prompt action was taken against malpractices and copying. As a result, 83 examiners were removed due to discrepancies and five centers were eliminated, and students were moved to nearby locations.
Officials said the CCR ensured free and fair examinations by improving transparency, preventing malpractices and increasing students’ confidence.
