HBO and HBO Max programming may take an early victory lap, with the second seasons of “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” and “The Pitt” drawing big audiences.
According to HBO, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” is averaging close to 13 million viewers per episode in the United States, with five of the six episodes of the first season available to date. That puts it on track to be the third-biggest series debut in HBO Max history.
The season finale will air on February 22. Episode 5 of the show, “In the Name of the Mother,” drew 9.2 million multiplatform viewers in the U.S. in its first three days of availability. HBO also says three-day viewership for each episode has increased week over week, excluding Episode 4, which aired early due to Super Bowl LX on February 8.
Meanwhile, at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, the second season of the critically acclaimed medical drama is averaging approximately 12 million viewers per episode. That’s 50% better than the show’s freshman season, and the show is also seeing week-to-week growth.
“The Pitt” has aired six of its 15 Season 2 episodes so far, with Episode 7 dropping today. Episode 6 attracted 7 million American viewers in its first three days.
Elsewhere in HBO’s lineup, season 4 of “Industry” continues to do well. The sixth episode peaked at 1.1 million viewers per episode in its first three days, and this season surpassed the previous three in terms of viewership. The first episode of HBO’s new late-night series, “Neighbors,” which premiered on February 13, has had 2 million viewers in the United States since its debut.
