Divya Suresh denounces harassment in Bengaluru
According to Divya, the incident took place around 11:30 pm, when she and her cousin were walking towards their parked car.
On her Instagram story, the actress claimed that an unidentified man started following them. She alleged that while following them, the man made obscene gestures at them. Divya said she and her cousin immediately noticed his behavior and confronted him, hoping he would stop.
She further wrote, “As he followed us, he openly touched himself. We noticed it immediately and called him, but he still didn’t stop. He continued until we got into our car.”

The actress expressed her disappointment over the incident and said that no woman should face such harassment simply because she walks outside at night.
Questioning the safety of women in Bengaluru, Divya tagged the Bengaluru police in her post and asked, “Where is the safety they keep promising us?”
The actress shared video of the alleged incident.
Along with her written account, Divya also posted a video on her Instagram story which she claims captured part of the incident. Since then, the Story has disappeared from the platform.
In the clip, Divya can be heard recording the situation while her cousin points out the man who was allegedly following them. Her cousin is also heard asking her to take notice of the man’s actions and urging her to contact the police. Divya further claimed in the video that the man continued to follow them until they entered their car.
The video quickly gained attention online, with several social media users expressing concern over the alleged incident and discussing the safety of women in public spaces.
Who is Divya Suresh?
Divya Suresh is a well-known face in the Kannada entertainment industry. He rose to fame after participating in Bigg Boss Kannada season 8, hosted by Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeepa. Apart from reality shows, she has appeared in popular Kannada television serials like Nanna Hendthi MBBS and Jodi Hakki.
Before taking up acting, Divya worked as a model and won the Miss India South title in 2017. She made her film debut the same year with No. 9, Hilton Cross. Over the years, she has also appeared in Kannada films including Rowdy Baby, Kempu Haladi Hasiru and Hiranya.
Last year, Divya Suresh made headlines after Bengaluru police identified her as the alleged driver of a car involved in a late-night hit-and-run accident in the city.
The accident reportedly took place near Nithya Hotel in Byatarayanapura in the early hours of October 4, 2025, leaving three people injured. Police said the actress was identified through CCTV footage and the vehicle involved in the accident was later seized as part of the investigation.
The investigation into that case is ongoing.
