Following India’s loss to England in the second T20I in Manchester, Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan said the team needs to improve its understanding of the conditions, adding that three no-balls bowled by spinner Ravi Bishnoi made things easier for Jacob Bethell, who changed the game with some brutal knocks in slog overs.
Kishan stated that the team that played the match was “perfect” and endorsed the quality of the players, highlighting their performances on flat decks.
He said the team needs to understand the conditions and continue to improve.
“It’s just that when you don’t win, a lot of thoughts come up; a lot of ifs and buts come up.”
“But at the same time, I feel that they were all very good quality bowlers who had done well in the past and had made their team win in different situations, even bowling on very flat tracks and still getting wickets,” he said.
“So I don’t think we could have done anything differently from a team standpoint. But yeah, like I said, we just need to understand what the conditions are here and how we can improve and what better we can do.”
“The thoughts will keep coming, but at the end of the day, we just need to understand the situation, as if we were playing outside India, and what the pitch requires of us as batsmen and bowlers.”
