Dheeraj Dhoopar is all set to participate in the second season of Lock Upp. Hosted by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh, the show features several television stars and social media personalities including Shivangi Joshi, Ram Kapoor Sunita Ahuja, Yogesh Rawat, Riyaz Ali and Shreya Kalra among others.
Interestingly, in recent times we have seen several reality shows dominated by social media personalities or content creators. While this has sparked a discussion about whether actors are losing their temper, Dheeraj Dhoopar believes that everyone deserves a chance. In an exclusive interview with CNN-News18 Showsha, Dhoopar spoke about the growing competition from influencers and clarified that he does not feel insecure about it.
“It wouldn’t be right for me to comment on it until I experience it. And personally speaking, it doesn’t matter which field a person belongs to, what matters is how well I connect with someone personally. If I connect personally with someone who is from another field, I will definitely express it on the show or even after that,” Dheeraj told us when asked about this emerging competition of influencers.
“I have nothing to be insecure about, we have all been chosen from our respective fields… Everyone who enters the show is equally capable. But having said that I am here to win, I prefer to focus on giving my best,” the actor added.
While many believe that influencers are taking advantage due to their huge following on social media, Dheeraj shared, “It is the time of social media and yes, talent cannot be ignored either. It is a world of changing trends. You may be trending for a short time, but you will only stay with your talent.”

Revealing why he decided to take part in Lock Upp 2 now, Dheeraj said, “After doing several TV shows and exploring the OTT genre with a series, I wanted to try something different. The reality space is something I haven’t explored at all and Lock Upp is a show that seemed perfect to me. Also, one of the main factors in saying yes is the combination of Netflix and Ekta Kapoor, it was too good to pass up.”
