The plot
Dridam follows Vijay Radhakrishnan, a newly recruited officer who takes charge of a station located in the hills, where life seems bright and peaceful. Aside from occasional fights between locals, the station has no significant history, making it an ideal destination for a newcomer entering the harsh world.
Very soon, Vijay’s worst nightmares come true when a series of gruesome incidents are reported one after another in the locality. With the increase in illegal activities, your effectiveness is immediately called into question and you must solve cases before it is too late.
What works for Dridam
dridam relies on a fairly flimsy concept and uneven storytelling, but the climax offers a level of satisfaction that elevates the overall experience. The film relies heavily on its climactic twist, which remains difficult to predict until the end.
Furthermore, Shane Nigam convincingly portrays the naivety of his character through his body language and acting. Several supporting actors also give reasonably satisfying performances.

What doesn’t work for Dridam
The film struggles primarily due to its inability to find a consistent rhythm in its narrative. While the script finally pays off in the climax, the lead-up journey is filled with clichés and a disappointing tone.
One of the film’s biggest drawbacks is its weak dialogue writing. Many conversations drag on unnecessarily, making the film seem tedious at times. The characters themselves seem shallow and underdeveloped, making the viewing experience even more difficult.
Furthermore, the technical aspects of the film fail to leave a lasting impression.
The performances
Shane Nigam He does the best he can with the material he is given. While he successfully captures the essence of an amateur officer, the script works against him, making it difficult for the character’s emotions to resonate with viewers.
Aside from him, the cast delivers a mixed bag of performances, with none standing out enough to make a lasting impact.
The verdict
Despite its shortcomings, Dridam has enough going for it to keep the average viewer mildly interested. However, the freshness and originality that a mystery thriller requires to fully captivate its audience is largely missing, which affects the overall experience even on OTT platforms.
