iPhone 18 Pro to be launched soon, from design to specifications to expected price in India: details here

 & more related news here

Apple is unlikely to release the next generation of iPhones for at least the next few months. But this hasn’t stopped rumors about the iPhone 18 series from surfacing online. However, leaks indicate that Apple could be changing things up this time. It is believed that Apple could launch the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max later this year, with the base iPhone 18 likely being postponed until 2027.

But what does the tech giant have in store with the iPhone 18 Pro series? While Apple hasn’t given any information about its upcoming devices, thanks to rumors, we have some clue about what we can expect. From new colors to improved performance and some new camera features, here’s everything we know about the iPhone 18 Pro so far.

Design and colors of the iPhone 18 Pro

While Apple introduced a big design change to the iPhone 17 Pro last year with a great camera, it is expected that the company is not working on another big change for the iPhone 18 Pro.

The iPhone 18 Pro is reportedly likely to have an identical design to its predecessor, but with one key difference: the colors. The latest reports indicate that Apple is testing four different color options for the iPhone 18 Pro: dark cherry, light blue, silver, and dark gray.

While it’s unclear if these four colors will make it to production, rumors suggest that the cherry variant could be the main color this time around. It was Cosmic Orange that caught the eye on the iPhone 17 Pro. Note that the iPhone 18 Pro may come with a single-tone design on the back, as opposed to the two-tone look we saw on its predecessor.

iPhone 18 Pro display and performance

Apple may not be changing much in terms of design, but you can expect a bigger change to the front of the iPhone 18 Pro. Rumors indicate that the Dynamic Island could be up to 35 percent narrower this year. This could be a notable change as it would free up more screen space at the top.

Although keep in mind that Apple is rumored to be removing Dynamic Island entirely with a 20th Anniversary Edition iPhone in 2027.

Back to the iPhone 18 Pro series. Screen sizes will likely carry over from the iPhone 17 Pro line. While the iPhone 18 Pro could maintain a 6.3-inch panel, the Pro Max could stay at 6.9 inches. However, it is recommended that Apple use new LTPO+ panels that could be more energy efficient.

iPhone 18 Pro performance and battery

As is the case with the iPhone, Apple is likely to use its own chipsets to power the iPhone 18 Pro models. The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to be powered by Apple’s yet-to-be-announced A20 Pro chipset, which may reportedly be based on TSMC’s 2nm process. This could make the A20 Pro up to 15 percent more powerful and 30 percent more efficient than last year’s A19 Pro chipset.

Power is not the only aspect in which the iPhone makes it difficult for the competition: battery life has also become a strong point. And the case is expected to be no different for the iPhone 18 Pro. Leaks suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro Max may carry a battery between 5100 mAh and 5200 mAh, compared to the 5088 mAh unit of the iPhone 17 Pro Max. These figures are for the eSIM-only model. The iPhone 18 Pro Max model that we will get in India will likely come with a slightly smaller battery as it will likely have a physical SIM test.

The iPhone 18 Pro battery details are still unclear, but we can expect a similar increase in capacity. If we add to this the efficiency improvements of the A20 chip and the new LTPO+ display, we can expect significant improvements in battery life.

iPhone 18 Pro cameras

Apple may reportedly be planning some major updates to the camera setup. The company is likely to maintain a triple camera setup for both phones with three 48-megapixel sensors: a main one, an ultra-wide one, and a 4x telephoto lens.

The company is reportedly testing a variable aperture main camera, which would allow it to control how much light reaches the sensor. There are also rumors that Apple could be testing a new three-layer stacked image sensor from Samsung. This could help improve responsiveness and expand dynamic range. The 48-megapixel telephoto camera is also designed to get a larger aperture for better low-light shots.

On the front, you can expect to get the 18-megapixel central selfie camera that we saw on the iPhone 17 series.

iPhone 18 Pro Siri and expected features

Apart from the specifications, you can also expect some improvements on the software front. The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to run on iOS 27, which may come with the big Siri update. The revamped Siri will likely work on Google’s Gemini models and will come with more features.

Another new feature that may be coming to the iPhone 18 Pro is expanded satellite support beyond emergency use. This would allow you to access Internet via satellite in areas without network coverage.

iPhone 18 Pro launch and expected price

Typically, Apple releases the latest iPhones in September and this is expected to be the case with the iPhone 18 Pro as well. Note that if the launch happens that month, it would be the first iPhone launch for Apple with John Ternus at the helm. Ternus will succeed Tim Cook as CEO of Apple on September 1, 2026.

And there will be a lot to unpack. In addition to the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, the company is also expected to launch the first foldable iPhone in September.

But what about the price? While there is little information available on the pricing of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at this time, it’s possible that Apple will keep them unchanged from last year. For context, the iPhone 17 Pro was launched in India at Rs 1,34,900, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max costs Rs 1,49,900.

The iPhone Fold, on the other hand, can cost around $2,400 (roughly Rs. 2,300) in the United States.
