Responding to questions at an earnings press conference, MD and CEO Ashok Vaswani said the bank will only do deals if they meet three filters – strategic fit, financial feasibility and manageable execution without putting pressure on management bandwidth – and will apply the same criteria used to evaluate Deutsche Bank’s assets.On IDBI, Vaswani said that Kotak has looked at the bank from every angle from a valuation perspective. He said, “Obviously it was given a lot of importance. Of course, it has some kind of scale but it really wasn’t necessary for us to do that.
