Srinagar: The Srinagar Meteorological Center has forecast a spell of generally unsettled weather in Jammu and Kashmir for the next few days, with rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds expected at several places.

talking to Life in KashmirSrinagar Meteorological Center Director Mukhtar Ahmad said that on May 2, scattered areas in Jammu and Kashmir are likely to experience light rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds.
It said more significant weather activity is expected between May 3 and 4, when the region is likely to witness generally cloudy conditions with some periods of light to moderate rain or thundershowers in most places.
Mukhtar added that weather conditions are expected to improve slightly from May 5, with only brief periods of light rain or thundershowers at scattered places. Between May 6 and 9, the weather is likely to remain mostly dry, although isolated showers cannot be ruled out in the afternoon. He further said that similar short rain activity is forecast at isolated places on May 10 and 11.
Meanwhile, in view of the expected rains and gusty winds, the Meteorological Department has advised farmers to suspend farming operations between May 3 and May 5 to avoid possible damage.
